Before you jump to Butternut squash and curry soup with chicken recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Choosing Healthy Fast Food.

Just about every article you read about improving your health or weight loss is going to tell you to ignore the drive through and cook all of your meals instead. There’s some benefit to this. But sometimes the last thing you wish to do is prepare a whole meal for yourself and your family. Sometimes you just wish to go to the drive through en route to your home and call it a day. There is zero reason you shouldn’t be able to make it happen once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. This is possible because lots of the popular fast food destinations are attempting to make their menus healthy now. Here is how you can eat healthy when you reach the drive through.

Aim toward the side dishes. Not that long ago, the only side dish item available at a fast food restaurant was French fries. Today almost all of the most popular fast food franchises have amplified their choices. Now you can find a range of salads. You could also select Chili. You can also purchase a baked potato. Fruit is usually available. There are countless possibilities that you can choose that do not force you to eat foods that have been deep fried. When choosing your dinner from the drive through, choose a variety of side items instead of choosing a pre-made “meal deal”. You’ll keep calorie and fatty food count low and save yourself commitment.

Logic states that that one of the best ways to stay balanced is to avoid the drive through and never eat fast food. While, for the most part, this is a good idea, if you make intelligent choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Often what you need most is just to have somebody else do the cooking. When you select healthy menu items, you do not have to feel bad about visiting the drive through.

  1. Pre heat oven to 400° then roast the butternut squash. I usually cut it in half, poke holes in it then microwave each half for 4 minutes. 2. Dice the onion and put it in an oiled pan with the clove of garlic. Sauté on medium heat until onion is caramelized.
  3. When the squash and onions are done, throw them into a stock pot and set them aside so you can prep your chicken.
  4. Cover the chicken breasts in olive oil and add salt and pepper. Then cover them in the dry spices and roast them in a 350° oven for about 20 minutes or until there is no pink in the middle. When the chicken is done, shred it and set it to the side.
  5. While the chicken is cooking, add the vegetable stock to the pot with your squash and onion and heat on medium low. You can also add your brown sugar and your curry paste.
