The ingredients needed to make Beef biriyani:
  1. Prepare 3/4 kg meat
  2. Get 2 cups rice
  3. Prepare 300 ml mala/natural yogurt
  4. Prepare 7 large potatoes halved
  5. Provide 6 large onions
  6. Provide 8 tomatoes
  7. Prepare 2 green bell pepper
  8. Provide 5 cloves garlic
  9. Prepare 1 pc ginger
  10. Get sticks Cinamon
  11. You need Cumin seeds
  12. Get Pilau masala
  13. Provide Garam masala
  14. Prepare Curry powder
  15. Get Egg yellow food color
  16. Prepare Black pepper powder
  17. Use Salt
Instructions to make Beef biriyani:
  1. Boil the meat till tender and set aside…
  2. In a large pan… Chop 4 of the onions and cook till browned and set aside….
  3. In a hot pan add oil and shallow fry the potatoes and set aside… You can add food color to the potatoes before frying
  4. Blend the remaining onions, tomatoes and hoho separately… If you don't have a blender… Grate finely
  5. In a sufuria, add in about 5tablespoons of oil and crushed garlic and ginger till cooked…
  6. Add in the boiled meat and mix evenly… Add in the blended onions… And cook till browned…
  7. Add in all the spices except the cinnamon sticks and cumin seeds.. And mix ensuring the meat is evenly coated
  8. Add in the blended tomatoes and fried potatoes…and half the browned cooked onions…
  9. Finally add in the mala and let it cook under medium heat for about 20-30min to thickens…
  10. For the rice,in a hot sufuria, add about 4tablespoons of oil… Once hot add the cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and pilau masala… And salt to taste
  11. Cook for about two minutes… Add in the rice.. Mix ensuring it's coated with the spices..
  12. Add in four cups of water…..and cover letting it cook…
  13. Once cooked take a pinch of the food color and mix with about 2tablespoons of water… And sprinkle on the rice… And add the remaining cooked onions on the top
  14. Fluff the rice with a fork,to mix the onions in and the food color
  15. Serve the rice with the biriyani and enjoy while hot… I served with homemade cooked chilli sauce
