Almost every single “get healthy” and “weight loss” article you study will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. This is really very true. But occasionally the last thing you want to do is make a whole supper for yourself and your family. Sometimes almost all you desperately want is to go to the drive through and get home as soon as possible. Why shouldn’t you have the ability to do this every now and then and not have a bunch of guilt about slipping up on your diet? You are capable of doing this because lots of the popular joints are now advertising “healthy” menu selections to keep their businesses up. Here’s how it’s possible to eat healthfully while you are at a fast food restaurant.
Concentrate on the sides. It wasn’t too long ago that French Fries were your only side dish option at a restaurant. Today the majority of the most popular fast food franchises have increased their choices. Now lots of them offer you salads. You can also choose Chili. You can get baked potatoes. You can get fruit. There are countless selections that you can choose that do not force you to eat foods that have been deep fried. When deciding on your meal from the drive through, choose a variety of side items instead of choosing a pre-made “meal deal”. When you choose to do this you can keep your fat content and calorie counts low.
Simple sense states that the best way to lose pounds and get healthy is to ban fast food from your diet entirely. While, usually, this is a good strategy, if you make sensible choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Sometimes what you need is to let another person make your dinner. If you choose healthy things, the shame usually associated with hitting the drive through shouldn’t be so bad.

- The next day take out crock and let sit on countertop for at least 30 min before you add it to the cooking element
- Place in heating element of your crock pot and cook chicken and veggies for 8 hours on low or 10 hours on low (or 3.5 hours on high)….make sure you don’t open that cover !
