Just about every article you read about improving your health or losing weight is going to tell you to ignore the drive through and cook all of your meals instead. There’s some value to this. But at times the last thing you want to do is put together a whole meal for yourself and your family. Once in a while you only want to pay a visit to the drive through while you are on your way home and finish the day. There is zero reason you shouldn’t be able to do that once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. You are able to do this because lots of the popular joints are now advertising “healthy” menu options to keep their businesses up. Here’s how you’ll be able to eat healthfully while you are at a fast food place.
Choose your drive through according to whether or not it has healthier options available. For example, Arby’s won’t serve hamburgers. You can consume roast beef sandwiches, wraps and salads as an alternative. Wendy’s, while no stranger to the hamburger, also includes a lot of other meal choices: large salads, large baked potatoes and other tasty items fill its menu. Most fast food restaurants will not stoop to the poor lows seen at McDonalds.
Logic claims that one the simplest way to stay balanced is to sidestep the drive through and never eat fast food. While, for the most part, this is a good idea, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Sometimes the best thing is to let other people make your dinner. There isn’t any reason to feel bad about visiting the drive through when you make healthful decisions!
