Before you jump to Chicken Spaetzle Soup (EASY 30 Minute Meal) recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Finding Nutritious Fast Food.

Almost each and every “get healthy” and “weight loss” document you study will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. This is actually very true. But sometimes the last thing you wish to do is prepare a whole dinner for yourself and your family. Sometimes you just would like to go to the drive through on the way home and call it a day. There isn’t any reason that you shouldn’t be permitted to do this and not be suffering from remorse about slipping on your diet. This is because many of the popular fast food restaurants on the market are trying to “healthy up” their selections. Here’s how it’s possible to eat healthfully when you are at a fast food place.

Choose the drive through based on if it has healthier options available. For instance, Arby’s doesn’t serve hamburgers. Instead, the options consist of roast beef and chicken sandwiches, wraps and big salads. While Wendy’s has made hamburgers for decades, in addition they have a lot of other healthy options like salads, baked potatoes and chili. Not every thing is McDonalds featuring its deep fried chicken parts as well as other terribly bad items.

Logic states that that one of the best ways to stay healthy and balanced is to sidestep the drive through and never eat fast food. Most of the time this is a good concept but if you make beneficial choices, there is no reason you can’t visit your drive through once in a while. Often what you need most is just to have somebody else do the cooking. If you decide on healthy things, the guilt usually associated with hitting the drive through shouldn’t be so bad.

Steps to make Chicken Spaetzle Soup (EASY 30 Minute Meal):
  1. Cube chicken
  2. In large soup pot, combine ALL "Initially Boiled Together" ingredients and bring to a boil..
  3. While bringing pot to boil, cut/prepare vegetables and spices.
  4. Once pot reaches boil, add "Fresh Veggies" and items from "Once Boiling Begins" and return to a boil.
  5. Once Boiling is reached again, reduce heat and maintain an UNCOVERED low boil.
  6. Set timer for 15 minutes while stirring pot regularly and monitoring soup to make sure low boil is maintained and ingredients are not sticking to bottom of pot.
  7. Once timer rings, check Spaetzle for desired consistency (firm al dente is optimal in my experience, as the Spaetzle will continue to soften as it cools in pot). If needed, cook an additional 1 to 3 minutes or as your desired consistency requires. PLEASE REMEMBER to stop cooking the Spaetzle when it is moderately more firm than your desired finished consistency.
  8. Turn off burner and remove pot from heat.
  9. Once you have checked the Spaetzle, carefully taste the broth and add salt or pepper to taste. At this point, prior to serving, you may add the butter and/or the lemon/lime juice to taste.
  10. Serve and enjoy. We enjoy hearty French and Sourdough breads with the soup as well.
